APWEN Commences Activities for SheEngineer 30% Club - Kennedy Osagie
SheEngineer 30% Club was conceived to improve diversity and inclusion
in STEM-based organizations and reduce skill shortage by encouraging more girls to take up STEM-based
careers. The project will be implemented across the aviation, automotive and
energy sectors where there is a noticeable shortage of females. It would
harp on the need for employers to retain, promote and support talented women
and also create positive workplaces through training in equality and diversity
issues and support the development and implementation of gender inclusion
policies. SheEngineer 30% Club will deploy her strategies in four distinct
phases:
Reach Out- To attract more women
Welcome In - To remove bias in recruitment
Pull through - To pull women through the promotional pipeline
